Resonant Parenting Project #11
I’d like to share a podcast that I’ve recorded with executive coaches Sarah Harper and Rachel Boyd for their brilliant podcast What’s The Next Step.
You can listen here.
Sarah and Rachel are former colleagues with over forty years experience between them, and a large part of their careers spent at Goldman Sachs.
I loved our conversation, which ranged across topics including:
My journey to psychology and specialising in work with parents and kids
Highly Sensitive Children, and the challenges of raising them (such as overstimulation, anxiety, friendships, sleep issues, power struggles and boundaries)
Conscious parenting and how our kids push our buttons
The teenage mental health crisis and social media
The importance of building strong attachment and connection with our kids
Why parents need community
How I look after my own mental health and what success means to me
Here’s a snippet from our conversation:
“I know how hard parenting is. I’m a parent myself. There are so many responsibilities. There’s so much information, so much judgement and so much to navigate. I find it a real honour to be able to support parents on this journey. I don’t think we acknowledge enough just what a huge ripple effect it has when we support parents. This support then ripples to their children, which ripples out to society. I wish we could honour the work that parents do and the work it takes to raise a child consciously. For me, there’s no more important work on this planet.”
I hope you find the podcast an inspiring listen!
I write the Resonant Parenting Project in between my work as a conscious parenting coach and looking after my six-year-old daughter Matilda. Any support from readers through liking, sharing, subscribing or buying me a coffee helps make this work sustainable. Thank you!
